Police officers have swapped their ticket books for greeting cards this week to foster good relations with the police department - and to issue a safety tip.

"Season's Greetings," the cards read. "Don't Drink & Drive, Drive Carefully." The group photo on the card features six police officers, two squad cars, a motorcycle and a police service dog.Sgt. Kelly Davis said officers will be giving the cards to anyone who would otherwise have been issued a warning, or even a citation in some cases. The idea is to get a safety message across to violators without spoiling the holidays for them, Davis said.
