A 17-year-old Salt Lake County youth remained in critical condition at St. Mark's Hospital Wednesday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident Tuesday morning.

Kevin J. Diedrich was injured when the car he was riding in slammed into a brick retaining wall at 3643 S. Highland Drive at about 7:35 a.m. Tuesday. The driver of the vehicle, Armin Rey Bucad, 16, also of Salt Lake County, was in stable condition Wednesday at St. Mark's Hospital."He started to change lanes and slid on the icy roads," said Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Carl Evans. The driver overcorrected, spun around, and hit the retaining wall.
