The federal government has made available a limited amount of the scarce flu vaccine for residents in the Salt Lake Valley. Beginning this week, the Salt Lake City/County Health Department will give the vaccine for a $3 charge.
The vaccine is recommended for people 65 years and older, those who have chronic illnesses such as lung and heart disease, diabetes or other chronic diseases. However, anyone who wants the vaccine can obtain the shots at the following clinics:-Salt Lake City Center, 610 S. 2nd East, Tuesday and Friday, 8:30-11:30 a.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30-11:30 a.m.; 1:30-4:30 p.m.
-Kearns Southwest Medical Center, 5255 S. 4015 West, Monday, 1-4:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:30-11:30 a.m.; 1-4:30 p.m.; Thursday, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
-21st South Center, 2001 S. State, Tuesday and Friday, 1-4:30 p.m.
-Copperview Multipurpose Center, 8446 S. 340 West, Monday-Thursday, 8:30-11:30 a.m.; 1-4:30 p.m.
-39th South Center, 3891 S. West Temple, Monday, 10-11:30 a.m.; 1-4:30 p.m.; Tuesday-Friday, 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-5 p.m.
