Salt Lake police arrested three juveniles Monday night after a brief car chase through city streets.

Lt. Joel Campbell said a car with six juveniles brandishing firearms was seen near Third South and 15th West about 8:30 p.m. Monday. "It was apparently gang-related," Campbell said. "They were taunting some of their enemies."A police officer later stopped the vehicle near Fifth East and 20th South and tried to remove the occupants, who suddenly took off. A high-speed pursuit evolved and officers chased the juveniles for four minutes before the car stopped. The juveniles then jumped out of the car and fled in several directions, according to Lt. Tom Brown.

Three juveniles, ages 15, 16 and 17, were apprehended and referred to juvenile court, Brown said. A long-barreled pellet handgun and a sawed-off shotgun were found in the vehicle, which was also listed as stolen.
