Four armed robberies kept Salt Lake police busy Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
"Four in one day is more than enough, thank you," said Lt. Tom Brown. "Tis the season to be robbing."The first robbery occurred shortly before 5 p.m. at Apple Pawn, 56 S. Ninth West, according to Lt. Dave Harkness. Two men entered the shop wearing ski masks and gloves and carrying long-barreled pistols. Store employees were ordered to lie on the floor as the robbers took a pistol, various jewelry and about $400.
A second robbery occurred about 7:40 p.m. at the Stop Shop convenience store, 504 S. Ninth East.The robber was described as a white male in his early 20s, about 6 feet 3 inches tall. About $125 was taken.
A third robbery occurred about 8 p.m. at the Albertson's store at 1638 S. Ninth East. A man wearing a tan blazer with a sweater underneath and a ski mask went directly to the pharmacy where he demanded narcotics at gunpoint. After the pharmacist gave him some narcotics, the robber fled.
Police said the robber shot once at a store clerk who followed him for a short distance.
At about 3 a.m. Wednesday, police said a white male gunman robbed about $100 from a Top Shop convenience store, 1080 E. Fifth South.
