NBC Sports signed an agreement with Cablevision Systems Corporation to put the Olympics on U.S. cable TV for the first time in a pooling of television resources worth an estimated $300 million.

The agreement could create 150-200 hours of pay-per-view coverage from the 1992 Barcelona Summer Games in addition to NBC's planned 160 hours over the commercial air waves.
