The holiday robbery spree continued Monday night with two armed robberies reported in Salt Lake City.
Police Lt. Joel Campbell said a man with a .45-caliber automatic pistol robbed the Metro Oil gas station, 510 N. Redwood Road, about 6:45 p.m. and fled with $300. The gunman is described as white, 28 to 30 years old, 6 feet tall, with dark hair and a scraggly beard. He was wearing a red and white ski parka and light blue pants.The second robbery occurred at about 10:35 p.m. at Sinclair convenience store, 873 E. South Temple - the second robbery there in two days. Lt. Dave Harkness said a white male described as 30 years old, with long hair, blue eyes and a mustache, displayed a silver handgun and demanded money from the cashier. The man was wearing a wine-colored jacket and possibly fled in a dark, small Datsun with an undetermined amount of money.
