A federal magistrate has bound over for trial two Colombian nationals accused of being couriers for 50 kilograms of cocaine allegedly found in their car.

Hernan Alvarez and Eugenio Raigosa-Zapata were arrested Dec. 20 when an Emery County sheriff's sergeant purportedly found the narcotic hidden in the car at a road block on I-70.The cocaine was found after the officer obtained permission to search the car, prosecutors say.

During a U.S. District Court hearing Wednesday, Drug Enforcement Administration Agent F. Steve Lough testified that 50 packages of cocaine were found under a false floor in the back section of the car during a second search using a specially trained police dog.
