The Kremlin has ordered swift action against officials it says took part in "mass removal and deportation" during ethnic violence in the southern republics of Armenia and Azerbaijan. The violence, stemming from claims by both republics to the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, has claimed 31 lives in the past two weeks and more than 60 since it erupted in February. About 100,000 people from each republic have reportedly fled their homes, many children sent away by parents.
