President Roh Tae-woo overhauled the leadership of the ruling Democratic Justice Party on Thursday, replacing three of five top officials to complete a reorganization of his government he promised as a means of speeding up democratic reform.

The shake-up came three days after Roh announced sweeping changes in his administration, replacing all but three of his 23 cabinet members, including the prime minister.The changes in the party hierarchy included new appointments to the posts of party chairman and secretary general, the top two positions in the Democratic Justice Party after Roh, officials said.
