Weber State volleyball coach Cindy Fredrick has been named Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year and five of her players have been selected for all conference honors.

Fredrick, in her fourth season at Weber State, led her Wildcat volleyball team to its best-ever record of 32-8 and its highest conference finish ever with a 14-2 Big Sky record. The Wildcats lost to Nebraska, 3-2, in their first NCAA tournament appearance.Senior outside hitter Kim Benesh and freshman setter Keri Killebrew were named to the all-conference first team while sophomore middle hitter Kelly Hankins and junior outside hitter Kathy Nickel were named to the second team. Junior middle hitter Lora Heissinger was named honorable mention all-conference.

In addition, Benesh was named as the Most Valuable Player in the Big Sky Conference. Killebrew was honored as the 1988 Top Newcomer as well as the 1988 Freshman of the Year.
