In a bid to become "America's first cholesterol-free city," the upscale town of Sausalito in Marin County launched a campaign to purge the fatty stuff from restaurant menus.
Mayor Robin Sweeney, along with some chefs from the city's numerous restaurants, announced Thursday the beginning of National Cholesterol Education Awareness Month."Chefs from Sausalito restaurants will combine together to eliminate cholesterol from their recipes, using only cholesterol-free products from now on - no saturated fats, only items that are non-cholesterol," a spokesman said.
