A Herriman teenager was in serious condition at University Hospital Thursday morning following a two-car head-on traffic accident Wednesday, officials said.

Eric G. Lance, 17, was flown by helicopter from Jordan Valley Hospital to University Hospital. West Jordan Police Sgt. Gary Cox said Lance was driving west on 78th South near 38th West about 5 p.m. when he crossed the center line and collided with a pickup truck head-on.The driver of the truck, Sheldon Herget, 43, of Sandy, was treated and released from Alta View Hospital, a nursing supervisor said.
