Kathryn Bassett Pardoe, 95, died at her home in Provo, Utah, Feb. 1. She served on the YWMIA general board from 1938-47. On June 3, 1914, she married her speech teacher, T. Earl Pardoe.
She retired as an assistant professor in 1968. A theater at BYU has been named the T. Earl and Kathryn B. Pardoe Drama Theatre in recognition of the outstanding contributions she and her husband made.
Fred W. Schwendiman, 89, a former temple and mission president, died Jan. 30 in Salt Lake City. He was president of the New Zealand South Mission from 1961-64, and of the New Zealand Temple from 1971-74. He was a former bishop, stake president and member of the Sunday School General Board.
A longtime Salt Lake printer, he owned the Utah Printing Co. until 1969.
