Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. (Mal. 3:18.)

As a boy in the third grade of school, my teacher gave the class an oral spelling bee. For two days, 20 or more of us children spelled until we missed a word. Finally one of my classmates misspelled the name of the prophet Isaiah. Since we were the only two left it was up to me to spell it correctly. I successfully spelled it and another word and was declared the winner.

When I arrived home, I told my mother about it and showed her the dollar bill that I had won as a prize. She asked who it belonged to and I told her I had won it and it was mine. She turned to Malachi and read chapter three verse 18. We agreed that 10 cents of the dollar should be given freely and thankfully to God. We sent the dime to Pres. Charles A. Callis, our mission president.

Now as an aged man in my middle 70s, I appreciate a wonderful mother who called my attention to this great truth. What a blessing to our family this scripture has been as I have received so many blessings by obeying it during my lifetime thus far.
