O God, thou hast taught me from my youth; and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. - Fsalm 71:17

"What hopes I have for you young sisters," President Ezra Taft Benson said in the Sept. 27, 1986, General Women's Meeting. "What hopes our Father in Heaven has for you.

"You have been born at this time for a sacred and glorious purpose. It is not by chance that you have been reserved to come to earth in this last dispensation of the fulness of times. Your birth at this particular time was foreordained in the eternities. You are to be the royal daughters of the Lord in the last days."

President Benson further said, "Don't settle for less than what the Lord wants you to be. As the Prophet Nephi exclaims in 2 Nephi 31:20: `Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus sayeth the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.'

"Yes," continued President Benson, "give me a young woman who loves home and family, who reads and ponders the scriptures daily, who has a burning testimony of the Book of Mormon. Give me a young woman who faithfully attends her Church meetings. . . .

"Give me a young women who is virtuous and who has maintained her personal purity, who will not settle for less than a temple marriage, and I will give you a young woman who will perform miracles for the Lord now and throughout eternity."
