The College of Physical Education at Brigham Young University recently presented its top awards to two faculty members.

Rulon Francis, recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award, and H. Patrick Debenham, recipient of the Creative Achievement Award, each received a plaque and a check for $1,000.A professor in the department of physical education-sports, Francis specializes in corrective physical education and human anatomy.

He earned his doctorate at the University at Utah and is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and American Athletic Trainer Association. He has been at BYU since 1963.

Debenham, who joined the faculty in 1976, is an assistant professor in the department of physical education-dance and the artistic director of The Dancers Company, a modern dance group.

Debenham is also a respected performer who has shown his talents in The Dancers Company, Theatre Ballet, Young Ambassadors, Sundance Theatre and various independent films.
