A Utah State Prison inmate was found guilty Thursday in 2nd District Court of rape and forcible sodomy, both first-degree felonies that carry prison terms of five years to life.

Kevin M. Leedom, 28, was found guilty of raping and sodomizing a 17-year-old girl Oct. 17 while he was on parole from the state prison on a drug conviction. The five-man, three-woman jury heard 11/2 days of testimony, including the victim's, before reaching its verdict Thursday afternoon. Judge Rodney S. Page set sentencing for May 17.Leedom admitted on the stand that the incidents took place but said the girl was a willing participant. The victim, a frequent runaway and substance abuser now in a drug rehabilitation program, testified Leedom threatened her if she didn't cooperate.
