Robert A. Hatch, senior vice president and manager of the trust group of First Security Bank of Utah, has been elected executive vice president, according to L. Scott Nelson, bank president and chief administrative officer.

Hatch joined First Security in 1969 as a trust administrator in the bank's personal trust department. He was elected vice president and manager of the personal trust department in 1979.When the organizational status of the trust division was upgraded in 1987, he was promoted to senior vice president and manager of the trust group. He is a director of the bank, chairman of the bank's trust policy committee and a member of the trust investment committee.

He received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Utah and also completed taxation and estate planning studies at the University of Utah Law School. He is a 1974 graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.
