The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation will hold its 2nd annual Fund-Raiser Banquet and Auction on Tuesday at the Little America Hotel. Money from the event willbe spent on projects to benefit Utah's elk population.

The RMEF is an international non-profit wildlife organization dedicated to conservation of elk resources and the preservation and improvement of elk habitat in North America. The organization, started just four years ago, has a membership of more than 30,000.

Money from last year's program went back into four Utah projects in the Manti-LaSal, Dixie and Cache national forests.

For tickets, contact Glenn Evans, RMEF Ticket Sales, 1864 S. State, No. 255, Salt Lake City 84115; or call 466-8066 or 969-4988. Single tickets are $45; couples' tickets are $70. There will be no tickets sold at the door.

Recognized at the banquet will be three Utah trophies. Two will become Utah's first entries into the elk category for Boone and Crockett, record keepers for big-game animals. The third is a new state archery record for elk and a new entry into Pope and Young, the official record book for archers.
