The arraignment of a Provo woman charged with stabbing her 2-year-old son April 22 has been postponed until May 13 pending an evaluation to determine her competency to stand trial.
Dixie A. Madsen, 34, 1375 W. Fifth North, No. 153, is charged with attempted second-degree murder, a second-degree felony. She waived a preliminary hearing Monday and has been held in the Timpanogos Community Mental Health Center since then.Police found the defendant's child, Brandon Madsen, with a stab wound to the chest after a neighbor reported the stabbing. The boy is in good condition.
