A Nevada judge has sentenced a Salt Lake hunter to 100 days in jail, fined him $2,240 and revoked his hunting privileges for poaching deer in eastern Nevada last August.
Judge Tom Stringfield initially sentenced Gordon J. Pollard, 43, to one year in jail. But Stringfield reduced the jail term to 100 days provided Pollard pays the fine and completes 240 hours community service work.
The Utahn will be on probation for at least two years, the judge said, and cannot hunt or fish while he is on probation.
