Symbion Inc., a Salt Lake company specializing in cardiovascular support items, reported sales of $1.3 million in the first quarter of 1988, an 8 percent increase over the same period a year ago, according to Lane J. Castleton, chief financial officer.
Total revenue, which included interest and other income, totaled $1.4 million, compared to $1.3 million in the same quarter a year ago, a 10 percent increase.Last February, Symbion acquired all of the issued and outstanding shares of Mitral Medical of Canada Ltd., a company that has developed and manufactures the Mitroflow pericardial tissue heart valve. Sales of the valve in February and March totaled $250,000, Castleton said.
