Two construction projects along I-15 will slow traffic this weekend, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.
Work will begin Saturday to repair the 27th South overpass damaged when struck by a too-tall truck. The contractor will work from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday on the northbound side of the overpass. The project may take several weekends to complete.
On Sunday, work on southbound I-15 from Fourth South to 12th South will also likely result in a traffic slowdown.
A contractor will be paving the bridge decks of the Eighth South, Ninth South and 11th South structures. Reflecting plowable pavement markers will also be installed along the highway from Fourth South to 12th South.
Traffic is expected to be channeled to only one or two lanes during both projects, and motorists are urged to drive slowly through the area and obey all construction signs.
