It was a french fry lover's nightmare early Friday morning when a semitrailer truck carrying a full load of frozen fries missed a turn on the southbound lanes of I-15 just north of the Provo Center Street exit.
The driver, Cecil Owens Stevens, 42, Dalton, Ga., turned his eyes away for just a second, a Utah Highway Patrol spokesman said, but it was then that the road curved. The truck rounded the bend, hit some of the concrete barriers and rolled over the side of the embankment, sustaining an estimated $90,000 worth of damage.
Stevens and a relief driver, Morris Walker, were treated and released from Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
They suffered only a few bruises and abrasions.
