Denying any wrongdoing, a Salt Lake pharmacist who pleaded no contest to three felonies involving illegal drug distribution was sentenced Friday by a district judge to a zero-to-five-year term in Utah State Prison.

In a courtroom packed with family and friends, Dennis Richard Robbins, 44, remained unemotional as he blamed his crimes on "bad management" and on employees who were crooked. In January he entered no-contest pleas to three charges: illegal drug distribution, Medicaid fraud and conducting a pattern of unlawful activity.

The pharmacist was arrested July 2, 1987. Salt Lake County sheriff's and county attorney's officials had been investigating Robbins for about two years.
