SHARE GARAGE SALE RAISES $6,000 FOR UTAH’S ARTHRITIS SUFFERERS

Utah's arthritis sufferers will benefit from $6,000 in proceeds raised at "The World's Largest Garage Sale" Saturday.

Charity groups rented booths from the Arthritis Foundation to peddle items ranging from quilts to used lamps. The sale was held in the National Guard Armory, 1523 Sunnyside Ave.The money from the garage sale will be used to sponsor a free Arthritis Education Day to be held May 21 in the Redwood Multipurpose Center, 3000 S. Redwood Road, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Dr. Grant Cannon, a rheumatologist with the University of Utah Health Sciences Center, will be keynote speaker. He will discuss current drug research.

Other seminars on the subjects of exercise, surgery and medications will be featured. For more information, call 486-4993.
