A Utah State Prison parolee was charged in 3rd District Court on Monday in connection with the robbery and kidnapping of a man who told police he had homosexual relations with the assailant, police and court records say.
Guido Alvillar, 24, was charged with robbery and aggravated kidnapping.
The victim was hitchhiking the night of May 8 when he was picked up by another man, Salt Lake City Police records say. The two returned to the victim's home and engaged in homosexual relations, the records said.
But then the man began choking the victim, demanding money because he said he was a male prostitute, the records say. After taking money from a briefcase he told the victim that some of it would be returned if he drove him to a Salt Lake County address.
Court records say that after the man was driven by the victim to the area of 32nd West and 42nd South, the man fled with $1,300.
