The current director of the Utah State Correctional Facility in Iron County has been selected to coordinate construction of the new Gunnison Regional Prison.
Tim Slocum will assume his new position after a new director for the Cedar City facility has been named."He has the unique ability to visualize a finished product from drafts and plans, a skill that greatly helped our effort in Iron County," said Corrections Department Executive Director Gary DeLand. "Because of Tim, we now have a much better facility in Cedar City."
Deputy Director Bruce Egan agreed. "We can utilize his expertise, experience and skills gained from overseeing the building of the Cedar City facility and directly apply it to the building of our new regional facility."
