Fifth Circuit Judge Robert Owens has fined a Cedar City man $300 for using a handgun and his police officer brother's motorcycle helmet to impersonate a lawman.

During the sentencing hearing Friday, Owens also placed Daniel Roy Drawe, 30, on one-year probation and ordered him to discontinue "acting" as a law enforcement officer.Drawe, wearing a West Valley Police motorcycle helmet, pulled over another motorcyclist April 2 on I-15 and lectured him about not having a license plate, prosecutors said.

When the man asked Drawe for identification, he left. Prosecutors also claim Drawe tried to pull over two motorists, but they drove away. The motorcyclist and the other drivers said they had seen the man before in Cedar City.

Drawe was arrested, based on the witnesses' descriptions, and pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge.
