Israeli soldiers fired tear gas grenades at Palestinian protesters in the Gaza Strip Friday, and a 3-year-old girl who inhaled the gas died, Arab reports and Israel radio said.

The army command confirmed the child's death but said the cause could not exactly be determined.Also Friday, two Palestinian teen-agers shot by Israeli soldiers during clashes in the occupied West Bank died, hospital officials and Israel radio said.

The deaths bring to 198 the number of Palestinians killed since the Arab uprising in the occupied territories began last Dec. 8. Two Israelis also have died.

In Gaza City, hundreds of Moslem worshipers waving outlawed Palestinian flags and black flags of mourning marched from a mosque to the home of Ahmad Wazir, the cousin of the slain PLO military chief Khalil Wazir, an Arab reporter said.

The PLO leader, better known as Abu Jihad, was assassinated last month in Tunis, reportedly by Israeli commandos. Israeli soldiers blocked Palestinians from attending a ceremony at the cousin's home.

On Thursday, an Arab assailant stabbed a Jewish teenager in the back as he walked through the Moslem quarter of Jerusalem's Old City.

Mayor Teddy Kollek called the attack on the seminary student an isolated incident, but he said the nearly six-month-long Palestinian uprising has raised tensions between the city's Arabs and Jews.

In the Old City, thousands of Moslem worshipers dispersed peacefully after Sabbath prayers Friday.
