Nestle Foods Corp. Friday announced it was recalling all cans of its Crosse and Blackwell Split Green Pea Soup with Ham from all stores and warehouses nationwide because of defective containers.

Consumers should return cans of the soup to their local supermarkets for either a refund or a replacement, said Barbara Campbell, a company spokeswoman.

The nationwide recall was announced after company officials discovered some of the cans used for Crosse and Blackwell Split Green Pea Soup with Ham had defects that could cause them to break open or leak, she said.

No other Crosse and Blackwell products were affected by the defect or the recall.
