A Kearns man admitted this week that he beat his cousin to death last fall.
Eugene Antone Fontecchio, 41, pleaded guilty as charged to second-degree murder, a first-degree felony.
Third District Judge John Rokich scheduled sentencing for June 6.
Fontecchio admitted killing 2-year-old Andrew Stout while baby-sitting him Nov. 16 in the Stout home, 5429 W. Townsend Way.
Salt Lake County deputy sheriffs found the boy unconscious on the floor when they were called to assist paramedics at the home. Fontecchio told them that the boy had fallen out of bed, according to a sheriff's office report.

The boy was taken to Primary Children's Medical Center, where he died the following day.
