Lily Tomlin hit Memorial Day sunbathers on the Maryland-Delaware shore outside Washington, D.C., with a barrage of advertising for "The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe," her show at the Kennedy Center. Airplanes were hired to fly along the beach trailing banners with messages like "Intelligent life sighted next towel," "All together now, turn over" and "Pay attention, I'm getting airsick." The messages were signed simply "Lily."
