A former Bountiful man working in Pittsburg died after being stabbed during a dispute over a drug transaction Sunday night, a California detective said.
Oscar Webb Jr., 26, died of one stab wound to the heart after an argument about 9:30 p.m. in a residential area of Pittsburg, about 60 miles east of San Francisco, Pittsburg Police Detective Ray Giacomelli said.A California man was booked into jail in connection with the incident, but Giacomelli would not identify him pending formal filing of charges.
Webb and another man were involved in a dispute over the sale of "bogus rock cocaine," Giacomelli said. Webb was sitting in the driver's seat of a vehicle while the man stood in the street next to the vehicle, he said.
Webb was stabbed once in the heart and drove nearly a mile before slumping over the wheel where he was found dead, Giacomelli said.
Authorities recovered a knife but would not say it was the weapon used in the stabbing pending further investigation, Giacomelli said.
Webb attended high school in Bountiful and served in the Utah Army National Guard and has relatives in Bountiful. He was a steel worker for a Pittsburg steel plant, Giacomelli said.
