A delegation of scientists from the Utah Centers for Excellence Programs will travel to South Korea this week to present a symposium on technology developments in the state.
The Utah group will spend three days in SeoulWednesday through Friday, said Lynn Blake, director of the state's Centers of Excellence program."The symposium will focus on information technologies such as computer networking, telecommunications, X-ray technology and public welfare technologies, including biotechnology, health care and commercial use of space," Blake said.
The goal of the trip is to increase trade and investments between Utah and South Korea, he said.
The Utah group includes David Hoeppner, chairman of the University of Utah mechanical and industrial engineering department; former astronaut Don Lind, a Utah State University physics professor; and Lt. Gov. Val Oveson, representing the state.
