George Osmond, patriarch of the singing Osmond family, is recovering at his Provo home from a broken rib and bruises suffered Sunday when his truck rolled over.
The 70-year-old Osmond was westbound on Windsor Lane in Provo at 6:15 p.m. when he lost control of his truck. It left the road, continued west over a hill, flipped and came to rest on its roof, a Provo police official said.A witness and a police officer removed Osmond from the truck and took him to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. He was treated and held overnight for observation, a hospital spokesman said.
Osmond was alone in the truck, but his wife, Olive, was following in another vehicle. Police are investigating the possibility that the brakes on Osmond's truck failed.
