A full-tuition scholarship at LDS Business College has been established in memory of the late Kenneth S. Bennion, president of the business school from 1948-1961.
The Kenneth S. Bennion scholarship will be awarded annually to an entering student who has demonstrated academic excellence and leadership skills, announced college President Kenneth H. Beesley.The scholarship is endowed from a gift by Bennion's daughter, Anne Bennion Jenson, and her husband, Conrad.
Bennion taught school in Tooele County and at LDS High School and worked in advertising in Salt Lake City before being called as president of the business school, which is part of the educational system of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He held many church positions, including membership on the Deseret Sunday School Union General Board for 22 years and serving as a host with the Church Information Service. Bennion died in 1966.
