A 6th District Circuit Court clerk in Richfield has been named Utah's outstanding circuit court clerk - the first time the award has been given.

The honor, presented by the Judicial Employees Association of Utah, went to Marie Hintze. She was chosen from among some 240 circuit court clerks in the state, said Margaret Saterwaite, association president.Hintze has worked as a clerk in Sevier County since the court was established in south-central Utah as the Tenth Circuit Court in 1978. She worked as a law secretary in the Chamberlain and Olsen law firm in Richfield for 20 years prior to her appointment as a court clerk.

There is no requirement that the award be given annually, but it will be presented periodically as deemed appropriate by the association's awards committee, Saterwaite said.
