Mathias Rust, the daredevil West German pilot whose Red Square landing stunned the world last year, wants to see Moscow again - from the ground, his lawyer said.

"He plans to visit this city as a tourist. He says he would like to see Moscow again, from below, which he, alas, did not have time to do," Vsevolod Yakovlev told the weekly Moscow News.Rust was immediately jailed after flying to Moscow on an unauthorized flight from Helsinki and landing his single-engine Cessna plane next to the Kremlin on May 28, 1987.

The 20-year-old Hamburg youth was released from Moscow's Lefortovo prison last week and put on a plane to West Germany. He had served 14 months of a four-year prison sentence.
