The approximately 27,000 Utahns who filed for an extension to file state income tax returns have until Monday to file their 1987 returns.
Extension requests are for additional time to file returns, not pay taxes. The extension request must have been accompanied by a payment of 80 percent of the estimated tax liability.The number of extensions requested this year is about average.
