Brian Shaw completed a three-point play with 26 seconds left to lead the U.S. Olympic team to an 81-80 victory over an NBA all-star team Friday night in a game almost postponed when the coliseum scoreboard crashed to the playing floor 12 hours prior to the opening tap.

The 20-ton scoreboard fell from its steel supports and cables shortly before 10 a.m. Coliseum work crews cleared the debris and replaced the new playing floor with a floor from the old Charlotte Coliseum.Locally . . .
