Disadvantaged or underprivileged children or adults of non-profit organizations are invited to be guests of the Deseret News at special performances of Ice Capades.
The newspaper is accepting requests from such groups to attend specific performances during the show, which will run Sept. 8-18 as an attraction of the Utah State Fair.Those requesting free tickets to the Deseret News Ice Capades Party (see coupon at left) may select one of three performances, either Sept. 11 at 2 p.m., Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. or that evening at 7:30 p.m. A limited number of tickets are available for each performance, and they will be distributed on a first-come basis.
In the event tickets for preferred performances are sold out, those requesting tickets should indicate their first, second and third choices. All efforts will be made to accommodate the requests, but alternate dates and times may be necessary.
The 1988 edition of Ice Capades is a "Salute to Hollywood." It stars Carol Fox and Richard Dalley, world professional ice dance champions, and four-time Swedish champion Catarina Lindgren.
In addition to an array of many other talented performers, the show features the Ice Capettes along with the Smurfs, who fight off the nasty Gargamel when the annual Smurfberry harvest is threatened.
