Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, who has three musicals currently running on Broadway, received the first Triple Play Award from the American Society of Composers, Author and Publishers.

Morton Gould, president of ASCAP, which licenses Lloyd Webber's music in America, said it's the first such award because Lloyd Webber is the first composer with three "blockbuster hits" simultaneously on Broadway. The shows - "Cats," "Starlight Express" and "The Phantom of the Opera" - are all also running on the London stage.

"It is a wonderful honor for me as an English composer to be honored by the American society," Lloyd Webber said.
