Searchers Tuesday afternoon were looking for a teenage boy who failed to return from a hike Monday in Big Cottonwood Canyon.
The boy, 17, whose identity was unavailable at press time, went hiking alone in Silver Fork Canyon about noon Monday and was supposed to have returned within a few hours, said Mike Goar, vice president of Mountain Operations at Solitude Ski Resort."We've been up there all morning and haven't seen any signs of him," said Goar, whose staff was joined Tuesday morning by members of the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Unit.
