The Utah Valley Regional Family History Center, also known as the genealogy library, at Brigham Young University will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 28.
Located on the fourth floor of the Harold B. Lee Library, the center's services are free to the public. For information call 378-6200.Classes offered include beginning research at 9:30 a.m., intermediate research at 10:30 a.m. and reviewing special research material at 3 p.m.
At 4 p.m., two courses are offered: a class on utilizing records from the United States Census, and an IBM computer course using Personal Ancestry File software. Pre-registration is required for the computer class.
Tours of the center are available, and consultants offer one-on-one help. Specialists in genealogy from Eastern and Western Europe, North America and Great Britain are available. Each hour, videos on basic genealogical subjects are also shown.
