Bidding methods for timber on the Wasatch-Cache and Uinta national forests will be changed.
Instead of a primarily oral auction, timber will now be sold by sealed bid.The change, intended to increase competition, will be effective Oct. 1.
Appeals to the decision may be filed with the chief of the Forest Service, 12th & Independence Ave. S.W., P.O. Box 96090, Washington, D.C. 20090-6090, within 45 days of the Aug. 8 decision.
