A resident whose home was burglarized and whose stolen articles were found through a diligent police investigation has written Mayor Ralph T. Argyle to thank the Woods Cross Police Department.

Marilee Shepherd said she returned home to find burglars had been there. She called the police department immediately and police officers came at once. They investigated the burglary and asked her to give them a list of missing articles. She said she gave Detective Paul Howard a list the next day, and he told her a pawn shop list of newly pawned items would be published the following week and that he would check the list for any of her belongings and then call her.

The following week she and the detective visited two pawn shops in Salt Lake.

"Sure enough, one of the shops had my television, and the other had my jewelry," she said. "Detective Howard informed me he had enough to go on and was going to pick up the person in question. About two days later the detective called me and said he had arrested a man and incarcerated him."

In her letter, she commended the Woods Cross Police Department for doing a fine job and said she was happy to be living in Woods Cross.
