SHARE DROWNING IS BLAMED IN DIABETIC’S DEATH

An investigative report for the state medical examiner's office concluded that a Smithfield man died from drowning and not insulin shock in Newton Reservoir Tuesday.

The body of Jeffrey Howard, 27, was turned over to the state medical examiner's office to investigate the cause of death after investigators learned the man had diabetes."All indications are that he drowned," said deputy Dan Richards.

Howard was pronounced dead on arrival at Logan Regional Hospital about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday after he was found floating in the reservoir.

Howard had been riding a jet ski in an area where sand bars were visible.
