A prison parolee charged with raping a 16-year-old Orem girl will stand trial Oct. 12 and 13, following the vacating Friday of a trial date set for next week.
Jerome Victor Trafny, 27, 438 S. 12th West, Orem, was to stand trial Tuesday after pleading not guilty last week to rape.Trafny originally was to be tried April 7, but the Utah County attorney's office filed a motion April 13 to temporarily dismiss the case because difficulty in getting a witness. Charges were refiled June 6.
